Yogya Trip.

This year, 8th graders of our school, SMPK 1 BPK went to Yogyakarta for a study trip from Monday, October 5th, 2015 till Thursday, October 8th, 2015. I had been to Yogya with my family a year ago but this must be a different experience since I would be going with all my schoolmate. I bet its gonna be fun exploring Yogya. I’ll share with you my wonderful experience there.

Monday, October 5th, 2015
Today I had no class since I had to prepare for leaving Yogya later in the evening. We gathered at school at 6.00 PM for departure. In total, there would be 7 buses going for the trip, each class with one bus, except for my class, which was divided into 3 buses. I was in bus no 2 with my best friend, Mia along with several classmates from DCP.  We finally started our long journey at around 7.00 PM. My parents prepared me with huge amount of snacks to bring. We arrived at SR Tasikmalaya for a rest and meals at around 10 pm. After we had our late supper, we continued our journey to Jogja.

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015
After a long and tiring journey about 10 hours, we finally arrive at Candi Borobudur (Borobudur temple) in Magelang. We first made a stop at Hotel Manohara near Borobudur at 5.00 AM. We had to wait in the bus until 6.00 AM because it was still too early as we arrived.  I couldn’t get enough sleep in the bus as the bus driver was driving very fast.  We had breakfast at Hotel Manohara that morning. The food was pretty delicious and the hotel was cozy.

At around 8.00 AM, we walked to Candi Borobudur. We took a class picture before we went up to the top of the temple. I also took a picture in front of  the stupa with all the girls in our DCP class.
After exploring Borobudur, we went to Jogja, and made a stop at Pesta Perak Restaurant where we had lunch. It was a buffet and all you can eat lunch. After lunch, we headed to Taman Pintar. It was an education center about history and science. There were lots of interesting things to observe there. After finish exploring Taman Pintar, we went straight to the hotel. We stayed at Grand Quality Hotel, a pretty old hotel but comfortable.
That evening, we went to Purawisata to watch Sendratari Ramayana, a performance of epic story of Rama and Sinta.  I almost fell asleep as I felt a little boring when suddenly “Hanoman” (white monkey), one of the character, did a great acrobatic actions such as climbing up a pole, jumping on the roof. We also had dinner there. At around 9.00 PM, we went back to our hotel. It was a tiring day, but we had so much fun that day.

Wednesday,October 7th, 2015
We had breakfast at around 6.00 AM, After breakfast, we headed for Ngandong Beach around 7.30 from the hotel. We had to leave from the hotel early because the location of the beach was very far from Jogja city. The trip to the beach took 2 hours and 30 minutes.

We finally arrived at 10.00 AM. We all played near the water immediately as we arrived. The most exciting part was that all my classmates and I, with the help of our form teacher Mr. Reagan, buried Christopher in the sand. We had lunch there. Then, we went back to the hotel.

We also took a picture of our jumping together in the beach. It was a very good picture we got.

And then we got back to the hotel. In the hotel, we rested pretty long, around 2 hours. That evening, we went to Mahkota Resta for dinner. After dinner, we walked to Malioboro, which was a famous market in Jogja. Most of the things sold there were cheap. After doing some shopping for souvenirs, we went back to the hotel for a rest.
Thursday, October 8th, 2015
The third day was the last day in Yogya. It was more relaxing than any other days. We woke up and had breakfast later than the day before.  We checked out and departed from our hotel at around 9.00 AM. We ordered some bakpia and yangko, which are Jogja’s traditional food, to bring home.
Before returning to Bandung, we went to Kraton Ngayogyakarta, the place where Jogja’s royal family lived. There were lots of antique and valuable things displayed there. At around 12.00 PM, we started our long journey to Bandung. We stopped at Pring Sewu for lunch and then continued our journey to Bandung.

Our final stop before reaching Bandung was Puja Seda Restaurant in Ciamis where we had dinner.  All buses headed for Bandung together at around 9.30 PM. The only thing I did on the way to Bandung was sleeping. I was very sleepy and tired. When I woke up, we already reached Cileunyi toll. We arrived at school at 01.00 AM on Friday, October 9th, 2015. My dad and my uncle came to school to pick me up that morning.
The trip was a great and memorable experience to me as we had fun altogether with all my classmates while learning new things.  I can’t wait for the next study trip. See you next time!!

Open House SMPK1 Penabur Bandung

On 28-29 August 2015 Friday and Saturday, my school, SMPK1 Penabur Bandung held an Open House. The purpose of open house is to introduce our school to prospective new students and this event is open to public. In a hall, there were many stands exhibiting different programmes that our school has to offer, such as DCP, billingual and classical programmes, extracurricular programmes,as well as subjects booth such as Math, Science, PKN, etc. Most booth showed all the works and projects done by students from different programmes. We were lucky that our group's math project, "Age by Chocolate" was chosen and displayed on the DCP booth. It was about a mathematical guessing game that you could play and get your own age and your birthyear as a result. I did mostly of the cover, while my other friends did the contents. Does it look good and interesting? In fact, It is a very interesting game.
Outside, also there were food stands offering various kind of foods and drinks such as chicken katsu, sausages, french fries, spaghetti, ice cream, and many more. The food price was reasonable, There was also a stage where singing, dancing, drama were performed. In our open house this time, there were a lot of competition held such Spelling Bee, Kontes Prima, Story Telling, etc for primary students.

Every class needs to decorate the classroom with different themes. My class worked together with 8E, because our idea of making booth was the same with that of class 8E. We made labyrinth plus haunted house named PHASMOPHOBIA. We used tables and unused clothes to make the labyrinth. We assigned some of our friends to become ghosts with face masks and paintings to make them look scary. The entrance fee to PHASMOPHOBIA is 10k per person. The objective of PHASMOPHOBIA was to get as many as hidden things you could find in the room and find your way out of the labyrinth. We provided 3 different prizes. If you get 1 tennis ball, you could get a hamster. If you get 2 hats, you could get a small lizard. If you get 5 pingpong balls you will get a chick. You must exchange the money with coupon first to get into our booth. During open house, our stand got a lot of visitors, which generated a hefty profit. Overall, the event was fun and amazing. Hope our school would hold and have a similar event again in the near future. See you again soon!

Serpong - Alam Sutera - Lippo Karawaci trip during lebaran break 2015

During Lebaran Break, I went to Serpong - Jakarta with my family. On 17th of July, we left home at 1 p.m. and arrived in Serpong around 3 p.m. Our first destination was AEON Mall at Serpong. AEON Mall is a mall with a lot of Japanese Vendors, there we found many things related to Japan, such as Sushi Bar, Ramen Bar, Japanese Desserts, and also a lot of Japanese products. There we queued for almost one hour to get sushi for dinner. The price was ranging from Rp 3,000 to Rp 6,000 a piece for a small one. It was fun to see variety kind of sushi displayed. The taste was very tasty. Outside of the mall, there was a garden full with colourful lights. We didn't spend much time in there because it was so crowded with people taking photos. Around 9 p.m. we went to hotel to check in. We went to bed early because we were too tired walking around the mall.

Next day, we went swimming in a huge pool completed with mini water boom at the hotel. My cousins living nearby were joining us swimming at the pool. The size of the swimming pool is semi-olympic. My father took videos underwater using his smartphone contained in a special waterproof plastic bag. It was so fun playing water under the sun. For lunch, we had Songfa Singaporean Ba Kut Teh, which is spare ribs in soup served with chinese tea. The taste was so yummy that ruined my diet for that day. Song Fa that we went in Lippo Karawaci has just opened  for a week only as the 4th branch in Jakarta.  Later after lunch, we went to IKEA in Alam Sutera, home furnishing mall where you can find furnitures, home supplies, and even toys. If you build your own house, IKEA could supply everything inside the house. The building is so huge that we could walk for hours inside. Then we went for Japanese Dessert Parlour. I ordered snowman ice cream. It was very delicious and cute. For dinner we had seafood. After dinner we went back to the hotel to take a rest.

We woke up in the morning feeling a little bit sad because it was our last day in Jakarta. That morning we left hotel around noon time. We went to visit Gandaria mall, where we could find a Boeing flight simulator. It is very interesting but it was so expensive, which costs about more than 1 million to play the flight simulator. Instead, we played at Amazing land where I got a stuffed toy named Mr. Tickles from the claw machine. How lucky I am that day. After dinner, we had ice cream at Tai-Parfait and then we finally left Jakarta and arrive in Bandung around 9 pm. Home Sweet Home. What an interesting trip we had in Jakarta. See you next time

Review on Resto Aloha Aina serving Hawaiian cuisines

The Aloha Aina  restaurant  is located in Jalan Cigadung Raya, previously was located in Jalan Diponegoro (near Dukomsel). The owner of this resto is Chef Dimas Soeyono, who stayed in Hawaii for quite a long time learning how to cook authentic Hawaiian cuisines. As a true Urang Bandung (Bandungers, Bandungnese, or Bandungiard), he had the guts to open a unique yet distinctive resto, that will become an iconic ‘small hawaiian suburb’ in Bandung, or else in Indonesia I think :)

At first, Aloha Aina caught my attention by its distinctive pinapple logo (which is trully hawaiian). The first chance I went to the new located Aloha Aina resto was on Friday, May the first, 2015 during the labor day break with family around 3pm that time, after we drove from Tebing Keraton on our way to Puncak Bintang, we stopped by this resto for late lunch.

Four of us gladly arrived at the resto, past the lunch time, and it was not so packed with people. Welcome by the cute tiki figurines near the toilet, we sat and order so many unique menus, 8 of them since we were super hungry at that time. The price range is very affordable around Rp. 25.000 (USD 3) and above for the meal, drinks should be cheaper.

LOCO MOCO (beef patty with eggs + savoury gravy + rice) & ONO POKE (raw tuna + rice + garlic seasoning) were the best dual pack menus for me. For sure the other ordered other menu such as GARLIC SHRIMP, KALUA CHICKEN (chicken + risoto), SPICY IKA (spicy squid rica-rica + rice), and blueberry pancake for dessert (not so hawaiian but still got the ambience). They were excellent as always. Chef Dimas cooked all the meal by himself helped with his assistant, surely it would take some time to be finished and well prepared for us. But time sure flew by with the surrounding nuances, you could find the 1:1 hawaiian trolley, all hawaiian themed souvenirs and antique items, even a hood of an old Mercedes Benz.

I for sure recommend this resto to all of you, for families, for romance seekers, for heartbreakers, for young and old peoples. It is definitely worth a try. Now, there are not so many great and unique ambianced resto with affordable price is available in Bandung, but Aloha Aina is. Make sure, you should dress up Hawaiian-ly. It's more like it!

Aloha Aina resto can be accessed easily from:
1. Juanda (Dago): just go straight up to Dago Atas, pass the Old Dago Endah Golf Course. After a kilometers or so, right on the left (the house is on number 3) you’ll find a big pinapple logo. Yup there it is.
2. Cikutra: just follow the road from Cikutra Cemetery, go north to Jalan Cigadung raya, follow the road, and it is on the right (number 3) with big pinapple logo.

Check out my photos of Aloha Aina above, and enjoy your ‘small hawaiian suburb’ experience. Chef Dimas himself will surely greet and serve you with his best skills. Wait for us Chef Dimas, we will definitely come back to enjoy your dishes. Cheers :)
I still remember when Aloha Aina had not been moved to Dago Atas. Aloha Aina was originally located in Jalan Diponegoro (near Dukomsel). For my consideration, the owner of this resto, Chef Dimas Soeyono, has made a very risky situation by opening the only hawaiian cuisine in Bandung. As a true Urang Bandung (Bandungers, Bandungnese, or Bandungiard), he had the guts to open a unique yet distinctive resto, that will become an iconic ‘small hawaiian suburb’ in Bandung, or else in Indonesia I think :)

At first, Aloha Aina caught my attention by its distinctive pinapple logo (which is trully hawaiian), but after the resto was moved to Dago Atas, the name changed into 3dolphins (which was also hawaiian, but honestly I prefer the pinapple one... hahahaha). The first chance I went to 3dolphins resto was on Friday maybe at the earlier months of this year.... and yup the resto was closed for Friday prayer, but of course after that they opened the resto again.

The last time we went (several of my friends with me of course) to this resto was two weeks ago, when we make a short weekend getaway to Bandung. For goodness sake, I should force my friend to try this Hawaiian cuisine, although they feel reluctant at first, when the story ended, I was glad that all my friend really enjoyed their ‘small hawaiian suburb’ experience.

That day was on Saturday, around 3pm that time, after we drove through ‘waterfall’ road (I always call Jalan Juanda a waterfall road, because it always drained with water whenever a heavy rain came). Five of us gladly arrived at the resto, past the lunch time, and it was not so packed with people. Welcome by the cute tiki figurines near the toilet, we sat and order so many unique menus, 8 of them... hahahaha... The price range is very affordable around Rp. 25.000 (USD 3) and above for the meal, drinks should be cheaper.

 What is Tsum Tsum?

Image result for tsum tsumImage result for tsum tsumDisney Tsum Tsum is a line of collectible plushies (stuffed animals) based on popular Disney characters. The name "tsum tsum" comes from the Japanese verb tsumu meaning "to stack", and the plushies are designed to sit on top of each other, forming a pyramid. The toys were first introduced in Japan in 2013 as an accompaniment to Disney Japan's popular mobile game with the same name and as of 2014 has sold 1.8 million toys. Disney began selling the toys in the U.S. in July 2014, and in Disneyland Paris the following month. Around the same time, Disney Tsum Tsum entered the market in South Korea by giving out icons for chatting systems.

You can also make Tsum Tsum with clay :))

Here is the tutorial how to make it :
