Open House SMPK1 Penabur Bandung

                      On 28-29 August 2015 Friday and Saturday, my school, SMPK1 Penabur Bandung held an Open House. The purpose of open house is to introduce our school to prospective new students and this event is open to public. In a hall, there were many stands exhibiting different programmes that our school has to offer, such as DCP, billingual and classical programmes, extracurricular programmes,as well as subjects booth such as Math, Science, PKN, etc. Most booth showed all the works and projects done by students from different programmes. We were lucky that our group's math project, "Age by Chocolate" was chosen and displayed on the DCP booth. It was about a mathematical guessing game that you could play and get your own age and your birthyear as a result. I did mostly of the cover, while my other friends did the contents. Does it look good and interesting? In fact, It is a very interesting game.
Outside, also there were food stands offering various kind of foods and drinks such as chicken katsu, sausages, french fries, spaghetti, ice cream, and many more. The food price was reasonable, There was also a stage where singing, dancing, drama were performed. In our open house this time, there were a lot of competition held such Spelling Bee, Kontes Prima, Story Telling, etc for primary students.

                       Every class needs to decorate the classroom with different themes. My class worked together with 8E, because our idea of making booth was the same with that of class 8E. We made labyrinth plus haunted house named PHASMOPHOBIA. We used tables and unused clothes to make the labyrinth. We assigned some of our friends to become ghosts with face masks and paintings to make them look scary. The entrance fee to PHASMOPHOBIA is 10k per person. The objective of PHASMOPHOBIA was to get as many as hidden things you could find in the room and find your way out of the labyrinth. We provided 3 different prizes. If you get 1 tennis ball, you could get a hamster. If you get 2 hats,you could get a small lizard. If you get 5 pingpong balls you will get a chick. You must exchange the money with coupon first to get into our booth. During open house, our stand got a lot of visitors, which generated a hefty profit. Overall, the event was fun and amazing. Hope our school would hold and have a similar event again in the near future. See you again soon!
