Yogya Trip.

This year, 8th graders of our school, SMPK 1 BPK went to Yogyakarta for a study trip from Monday, October 5^th, 2015 till Thursday, October 8^th, 2015. I had been to Yogya with my family a year ago but this must be a different experience since I would be going with all my schoolmate. I bet its gonna be fun exploring Yogya. I’ll share with you my wonderful experience there. 

Monday, October 5th, 2015

Today I had no class since I had to prepare for leaving Yogya later in the evening. We gathered at school at 6.00 PM for departure. In total, there would be 7 buses going for the trip, each class with one bus, except for my class, which was divided into 3 buses. I was in bus no 2 with my best friend, Mia along with several classmates from DCP.  We finally started our long journey at around 7.00 PM. My parents prepared me with huge amount of snacks to bring. We arrived at SR Tasikmalaya for a rest and meals at around 10 pm. After we had our late supper, we continued our journey to Jogja. 

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015
After a long and tiring journey about 10 hours, we finally arrive at Candi Borobudur (Borobudur temple) in Magelang. We first made a stop at Hotel Manohara near Borobudur at 5.00 AM. We had to wait in the bus until 6.00 AM because it was still too early as we arrived.  I couldn’t get enough sleep in the bus as the bus driver was driving very fast.  We had breakfast at Hotel Manohara that morning. The food was pretty delicious and the hotel was cozy. 

 

At around 8.00 AM, we walked to Candi Borobudur. We took a class picture before we went up to the top of the temple. I also took a picture in front of  the stupa with all the girls in our DCP class.

After exploring Borobudur, we went to Jogja, and made a stop at Pesta Perak Restaurant where we had lunch. It was a buffet and all you can eat lunch. After lunch, we headed to Taman Pintar. It was an education center about history and science. There were lots of interesting things to observe there. After finish exploring Taman Pintar, we went straight to the hotel. We stayed at Grand Quality Hotel, a pretty old hotel but comfortable.

That evening, we went to Purawisata to watch Sendratari Ramayana, a performance of epic story of Rama and Sinta.  I almost fell asleep as I felt a little boring when suddenly “Hanoman” (white monkey), one of the character, did a great acrobatic actions such as climbing up a pole, jumping on the roof. We also had dinner there. At around 9.00 PM, we went back to our hotel. It was a tiring day, but we had so much fun that day.

Wednesday,October 7th, 2015

We had breakfast at around 6.00 AM, After breakfast, we headed for Ngandong Beach around 7.30 from the hotel. We had to leave from the hotel early because the location of the beach was very far from Jogja city. The trip to the beach took 2 hours and 30 minutes. 

We finally arrived at 10.00 AM. We all played near the water immediately as we arrived. The most exciting part was that all my classmates and I, with the help of our form teacher Mr. Reagan, buried Christopher in the sand. We had lunch there. Then, we went back to the hotel. 

We also took a picture of our jumping together in the beach. It was a very good picture we got. 

And then we got back to the hotel. In the hotel, we rested pretty long, around 2 hours. That evening, we went to Mahkota Resta for dinner. After dinner, we walked to Malioboro, which was a famous market in Jogja. Most of the things sold there were cheap. After doing some shopping for souvenirs, we went back to the hotel for a rest.

Thursday, October 8th, 2015

The third day was the last day in Yogya. It was more relaxing than any other days. We woke up and had breakfast later than the day before.  We checked out and departed from our hotel at around 9.00 AM. We ordered some bakpia and yangko, which are Jogja’s traditional food, to bring home.

Before returning to Bandung, we went to Kraton Ngayogyakarta, the place where Jogja’s royal family lived. There were lots of antique and valuable things displayed there. At around 12.00 PM, we started our long journey to Bandung. We stopped at Pring Sewu for lunch and then continued our journey to Bandung.

Our final stop before reaching Bandung was Puja Seda Restaurant in Ciamis where we had dinner.  All buses headed for Bandung together at around 9.30 PM. The only thing I did on the way to Bandung was sleeping. I was very sleepy and tired. When I woke up, we already reached Cileunyi toll. We arrived at school at 01.00 AM on Friday, October 9^th, 2015. My dad and my uncle came to school to pick me up that morning.

The trip was a great and memorable experience to me as we had fun altogether with all my classmates while learning new things.  I can’t wait for the next study trip. See you next time!!
